On May 1, 2011 President Barack Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden and other top U.S. officials and members of the national security team met in the White House Situation Room during a Navy Seals mission to find Osama bin Laden.

Photos released from that night showed Obama and his team of national security experts intently viewing the video feed from the raid on bin Laden’s compound that killed the terrorist.

However, as Obama disclosed previously there were large chunks of time that he and the rest of his security team were waiting.

Now, according to a former personal aide of President Obama, its seems the president was passing some of his free time waiting for information from Pakistan by playing cards.

Reggie Love, the former aide, said during a forum last month in UCLA that most of the people were waiting in the Situation Room and Obama said he did not want to watch everything and was not going there so he and Love played 15 hands of spades.

Love left his duties at the White House later that same year and explained it had been a long day adding that he, Obama, Pete Souza the White House photographer and Marvin Nicholson another aide for Obama spent time in the dining room of the White House playing cards in order to help break some tension.

The revelation made by Love is a detail never before mentioned of how the night developed and unfolded. However, President Obama himself in recollecting what had transpired that night, already had revealed that there was a great deal of down time while the raid was taking place.

During an interview, only days after the raid took place, Obama told 60 Minutes interviewer Steve Kroft that it had been tense in the Situation Room, but there also were time spans where we just waited.
